Your International Adoption Journey:

Your adoption journey might seem intimidating and complex at times, but you are not alone.  Our support and guidance will carry your through your journey.

The Steps You Will Take:

• Choose a country
• Apply to adopt
• Complete your home study
• Apply for immigration approval from USCIS
• Prepare your Dossier (paperwork which is sent to the country)
• Wait to be matched with your child
• Matching & acceptance of your child
• Meet your child
• Attend court
• Return Home!!!
• Post adoption visits from your home study social worker
• Finalize or refinalize your adoption
• Remember that ABC is here to support you though the rest of your lifelong adoption journey!

ABC Adoption Services started its international adoption programs in the early winter of 1996 for families wishing to welcome into their hearts and homes children of another culture.  ABC has continued this tradition through our parent agency, Carolina Adoption Services.  Through this relationship families in Virginia can count on us for seamless services from the very beginning of your adoption and for years to come after you are home.  For families outside of Virginia, you can still count on Carolina Adoption Services to bring your child home.
